Laser Hair Removal

Any Fitzpatrick II-IV. Light, Medium or dark complexions. Someone who does not have sensitive skin. Dark colored hair, the laser picks up melanin in the hair. No health concerns. Someone who does not have health concerns typically will see the best results and do not for-see complications. Must be 18 or older.

Light colored hair. Blonde, gray or red hair will not be picked up by laser. Certains skin conditions. If you have active skin infections such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, active cold sore, herpes or other skin conditions will need to be healed before treatment. Pregnancy or breastfeeding. Medications, some medications can increase photosensitivity or increase hair growth (Like a hormone replacement). Check with your provider before beginning treatment. Health conditions such as, seizures, epilepsy, cancer or under radiation.

The Fitzpatrick scale or skin type is a classification system based on the amount of melanin present in the skin. It also takes into consideration the skins reaction to sun exposure and the skin’s tendency to sunburn or tan. This scale is cateorgized by I-VI. Those who are more likely to burn may be at a higher risk of skin cancer and those with darker skin are more likely to develop post- inflammatory pigmentation after injuries. The main purpose for the use of the Fitz scale in regards to Laser Hair Reduction is to determine the appropriate settings on our device. Depending on where you fall on the scale, more or less of certain wavelengths will come through the hand piece while performing the service.

At The Wax Room we can proudly say we can treat all skin types and tones effectively and safely. It is important to note that LHR does work the absolute best on fair skin with dark hair. Nevertheless, all skin types can be treated at TWR!

Our Laser Hair Consultation is a 30 minute session focusing on accurately determining your Fitz Scale, going over your rights and responsibilities, pre/post care instructions, discussing your desired body areas you want to treat plus your expectations then we will determine a treatment plan. Our consultation fee will be deducted from your first service treatment.

We recommend at least 6-8 sessions to see a significant reduction in hair growth. It is important to note that LHR is a reduction and not permanent removal. Pregnancy or struggles with PCOS can actually cause more hair growth. Hair can only be destroyed while in the anagen cycle of growth and only 15%-20% of hair is in this cycle at any given time. Significant decrease in hair is noted in Cervello case studies (as well as TWR’s own case studies) in as soon as one treatment.

We use a multi wavelength diode laser called Cervello. It has a built-in cooling system within the hand piece to increase comfort throughout the treatment and is virtually painless.

You must book a laser consultation before your first treatment. Even if you’ve had laser treatments elsewhere, we still need dedicated time with you to go over your concerns, questions, expectations, additional paperwork, and more.

You can book your consultation separately and schedule your first treatment for a later date, or you can schedule your consultation and first treatment together.

There is a $50 consultation fee, but it will be waived if you purchase a package at the time of your consultation or during your first treatment.

We will always have laser hair removal packages available, but the current pricing will increase slightly on 8/16. Now is the best time to lock in significant savings!
